eCOGRA Certifies Mahjong LogicBy: Adam Richards, Friday January 8th 20101 Comment Email Print eCOGRA is a not for profit player protection and standards organization that offers specialised compliance auditing services with emphasis on fair and responsible gambling. eCOGRA has audited and certified online gaming operators, affiliate programs and software providers. Among the software providers that are on eCOGRA's approved list are Microgaming, Net Entertainment, Ongame Network and Spin3. It has recently added a unique software provider to this list, Mahjong Logic. Mahjong Logic operates from Stockholm and Isle of Man. The Mahjong Logic Network was launched in August 2009. It received its license from the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission in December 2009. It specialises in developing the online version of the classic gambling game Mahjong. Mahjong is known as Asian Poker because of its popularity in China and the rest of Asia, where it has a large land based gambling market. Mahjong is now played in North America and Europe as well. However it has not yet broken into the online gambling market. This is precisely what Mahjong Logic is trying to do. Mahjong Logic provides three different kings of online Mahjong games. The Single Hand games are a faster version of the classic game and can be played with 2, 3 or 4 players. The Full Game provides the classic Mahjong experience both as far as skill and atmosphere are concerned. Multi Table Tournaments are also offered in which thousands of players can compete against each other. Compliance with eCOGRA's stringent requirements will help Mahjong Logic in spreading online Mahjong. The audit was carried out by eCOGRA's compliance audit team. eCOGRA compliance manager Gareth Muirhead reported that Mahjong Logic had demonstrated dedicated commitment to complying with the regulations. eCOGRA also carried out a number of statistical tests for randomness on Mahjong Logic's RNG and certified that it was fair and unbiased. Andrew Beveridge, Chief Executive Officer of eCOGRA said that the successful certification of Mahjong Logic represented an important step in the regulation of online gambling, in player protection and the providing of responsible gambling services. Jonas Alm, Chief Executive Officer of Mahjong Logic was pleased with his company achieving the certification and said, "Security and player protection is highly prioritised and ranked on top of our agenda. Our compliance demonstrates our commitment to providing our players with an extremely high level of protection when playing on a Mahjong Logic site. Further the Isle of Man license shows that Mahjong Logic is a responsible operator to be reckoned with.' eCOGRA has so far granted approvals to 7 mobile gaming sites, 27 online poker rooms, 92 online casinos, 6 bingo halls, 8 sports books, 5 online casino groups, 3 affiliate programs and 15 software providers. I've never really tried playing Mahjong online but I think I may like it. It seems like a pretty interesting game to play that's slightly more skill involving then playing online casino type games.
