eCOGRA Approves Boss Media Software

In a press release from its headquarters in London, eCOGRA announced that the online gaming software provider Boss Media was awarded the eCOGRA software certification following a rigorous on-site review. Boss Media became the 18th software provider to receive this accreditation. Most of the software providers approved by eCOGRA offer proprietary services to the gambling operators that have an ownership stake in them. The ones that widely license their products include Microgaming, Spin3, Ongame Network and Net Entertainment.

Boss Media is regarded as one of the pioneer software providers to the online gaming industry. It was founded in 1996 by the Swedish entrepreneur Joe Wikell and has experience in online gambling operations as well. This has enhanced its capabilities as a software provider. Today Boss Media is a part of the GTechG2 group. The online casinos powered by Boss Media include Casino Club, Paddy Power Casino, bwin Casino and Casino.net. Boss Media also operates the International Poker Network with poker room like Paradise Poker, Poker Kings, InterPoker and Virgin Poker. Both the online casino and the online poker software have been approved by eCOGRA.

The review of Boss Media was headed by eCOGRA compliance manager Bradley Khoury, who is a Chartered Accountant and Information Systems Auditor. Khoury traveled to Vaxjo, the head office of Boss Media, with his team and conducted a comprehensive review of systems and software over several days in order to ascertain that they were in compliance with the industry best practice standards as required by eCOGRA's eGAP regime. The eCOGRA benchmarks for the software suppliers are different from those for the online casino operators. The press release said "the software supplier standards focus on the internal controls governing the development environment in order to ensure the software is implemented, maintained and continuously operated in a safe, secure and reliable manner."

Khoury express complete satisfaction on the cooperation received from the Boss Media team headed by Process Manager Tom Svalaklev. Andrew Beveridge, chief executive officer of eCOGRA, congratulated Boss Media on its success and receipt of the certification. He said, "This is a highly respected industry company that has been active in the business for over a decade, and the process efficiencies and very high software quality reflect that. On behalf of eCOGRA's Independent Directors I congratulate Boss Media and its employees on a very professional effort."

The chief executive officer of Boss Media Johan Berg affirmed that his company had always been committed to the highest possible quality in the software and the services that it provided. He said that eCOGRA's approval was a reaffirmation of that commitment. He added that now Boss Media's performance could be evaluated on a continuous basis against an internationally accepted standard.
