Chartwell Technology Inc was founded in 1998 and operates from Calgary, London, Singapore and Malta. It is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Chartwell Technology supplies software to online gaming operators and does not run any casinos itself. Chartwell Technology is licensed to offer its services in all major gaming jurisdictions. These include Betfair, bwin Interactive, Victor Chandler, Gala Coral, Stan James, Casinos Austria International, and Gaming VC's Betaland. Clinton Begin, Vice President of Software Development at Chartwell, explained the rationale behind seeking the eCOGRA certification. He said, "This was a good test of all our development, business and control systems, and I believe we benefited from the full professional assessment and recommendations made by the eCOGRA compliance auditor on his inspection visit to our Calgary facility." The on-site audit and assessment was carried out by Compliance Manager Shaun McCallaghan on behalf of eCOGRA. He was all praise for the Chartwell Technology facilities. McCallaghan said the technical team from Chartwell Technology rendered complete cooperation and was ready with all the documents and systems required for compliance testing. He informed eCOGRA's independent directors responsible for awarding the seals that Chartwell Technology met all requirements over the testing period. Then eCOGRA chief executive Andrew Beveridge congratulated the personnel at Chartwell Technology. He said that the Certified Software Seal is given only after rigorous inspection and will be followed by sustained monitoring and annual reviews. Several leading online gaming software providers have already received eCOGRA's coveted Certified Software Seal. They include Microgaming, bwin Games, 888.com, Boss Media and Partouche Technologies.
