eCOGRA Accredits Casino Online

eCOGRA is the well known accreditation agency for online gambling operators. It evaluates operators like online casinos against its high standards of operational conduct, fair gaming, integrity, and player service. Those operators that have demonstrated a practical commitment to these standards are awarded the coveted eCOGRA "Safe & Fair" seal. So far 146 online gambling sites have received this mark of excellence, which is displayed on their web sites. Through a press release dated August 30, 2011, eCOGRA chief executive Andrew Beveridge has informed that Betclic has successfully gone through the accreditation procedure and has joined the elite group of eCOGRA approved online gambling operators.

Betclic is a popular brand of the Betclic Everest group. It operates online gambling portals such as an online casino, an online poker room and an online sports book. Announcing the accreditation Beveridge said, "The Betclic management is highly experienced and well established in the industry. Betclic was the founding company when the Mangas Gaming Group, which subsequently became the Betclic Everest Group, was formed." Beveridge added that the rigorous on-site inspection and review process was much less taxing for Betclic than it had been for many other online gambling operators. This was because Betclic had already achieved compliance with the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) standards. This made it simpler for them to meet all of the eCOGRA requirements, many of which overlap with those of the EGBA.

The eCOGRA press release stated that the audit and inspection leading to accreditation was carried out by Bradley Khoury, a Chartered Accountant and Information Systems Auditor, who reported to the eCOGRA Seals Compliance Committee. He said that the Betclic compliance team was extremely cooperative and dedicated. The eCOGRA team members were permitted unrestricted access to the Betclic staff and all required information. This facilitated the accreditation procedure. Khoury concluded by saying, "The organization demonstrated strong resilience and noteworthy commitment to compliance."

Lisa Lombardi, the Licensing and Compliance Director for Betclic, said that the accreditation initiative had been both informative and challenging. According to her statement the investment in time and resources on the process had been very well spent. It gave the Betclic management an opportunity to review all of their procedures and also provided the benefit of a totally independent, practical and expert view of the manner in which they conducted every aspect of their business.

The elite list of online gambling operators who carry the Safe & Fair seal at their web sites includes some of the biggest names in the business. All online casinos belonging to the Jackpot Factory, Fortune Lounge, Casino Rewards and Vegas Partner Lounge groups are included as are independent operators like 888 Casino and PartyCasino.
