Full Review - EcoCard (9.25)
As a prepaid virtual debit card, the ECOcard can be funded either through wire transfers or a direct deposit from your bank. Unlike many other e-wallets, the use of the ECOcard does not require any registration or membership fee. Keep in mind however that you may have to pay a certain fee to your bank when you make a deposit to your ECOcard. Any withdrawals from your card will also entail a fee, which will depend on the particular withdrawal method you use.
If you want to sign up for an ECOcard, simply log on to the company’s web site at ecocard.com. The sign up process is quite simple and straightforward, and you should have no trouble doing it even if you have never signed up for an e-wallet service before. Furthermore, there is no charge for signing up for an ECOcard.
During the sign up process, you will be asked to provide a valid email address, a password, and your chosen currency. You will then be prompted to read through the company’s terms and conditions and after you have agreed to them, you will be emailed details on how to activate your account. This email will include your ECOcard number and user ID.
Depositing money into your ECO card is just as easy as signing up for an account. You will simply have to log in to your ECOcard account and browse over to the Money Deposits section. Here you will be shown a list of banks and details on their deposit policies. From here, you can print out a deposit order that you can use at your bank in order to deposit funds into your ECOcard. You can also use this deposit form to transfer funds from your bank account into your ECO account. Depending on your bank’s policies regarding these types of transactions, you may have to pay additional fees.
As for withdrawing funds from your ECOcard, it is again as easy as can be. The withdrawal process involves logging in to your ECO card account and browsing to the Withdraw section. From here, you have two options for withdrawing your money. You can either go for a wire transfer, or you can make out a bank check. The withdrawal request takes a fairly short time to process, with your funds typically released after two days. Keep in mind that when you use the wire transfer method, you will have to pay $10. Bank checks will entail a cost of $25 as well. While the wire transfer method is available to all ECOcard users, the bank check method is only available to users residing in the Italy and the United Kingdom.
