eChecks: A Useful Deposit OptionBy: Ryan Alders, Wednesday April 1st 20092 Comments Email Print Credit cards (Visa / MasterCard and Amex) are still the most common deposit option in online casinos. However, there are times when credit cards do not work. Therefore it is advisable that players have another deposit option to fall back on. eCheck is one such option. eChecks offer several advantages to online players. One of these is the simplicity of use. In order to avail of this option, a player needs to have a checking account in his name, with adequate balance in it. When the player wants to fund his casino account he should access the deposit section of the cashier and select eCheck as the payment option. He should then enter the details of the checking account and the amount that he wants transferred. The details include account number and the bank routing number. The casino sends the request electronically to the bank and the requested amount is transferred from the player’s checking amount to his bank account through the banking Automatic Clearing House process. When the player wants to withdraw funds he should access the withdrawal section of the cashier and enter the bank details and amount. Using the same channel the funds get transferred to the player’s checking account. Another advantage the eChecks offer is security. All casinos employ encryption technology for transmission of financial information through the Internet. With eChecks the players do not have to depend on the online casinos’ word that their system is secure. The bank to which the request for transfer is sent first ascertains whether the casino has installed the requisite security system. Only if the security system is in place will the bank remit the funds. If the security system is not in place or not good enough, then the bank will refuse to make the transfer. The third advantage is widespread acceptability of eChecks. eCheck are accepted at a large number of online casinos. In The United States and Canada the option is also known as Instant Checks. In Europe the name given to this option is European Cheque. Outside America, Canada and Europe the option is called InstaDebit. Some of the online casinos accepting American players that accept deposits through eCheck are listed below:

I've used this banking option on many occasions when I've had troubles at online casinos that do accept Visa, MasterCard and Amex that just weren't able to accept my funds at the time. It's a great alternative IMHO and I recommend it to those who are having trouble with their credit cards. There are often times some paperwork and fax backs that are required by online casinos that accept this method but it's well worth it considering that it's almost as easy to deposit with as credit cards are. The downside is that there is typically more stringent limits on eChecks as opposed to credit card depositing. Too much fraud is what it stacks up to and from what I've heard regarding this banking option. There are tons of other banking options out there though so it's no big loss if you ask me!
