Dennis Rodman Basketball SlotsBy: Shirley Spicer, Wednesday March 25th 20091 Comment Email Print The above screenshot is of the Playtech Dennis Rodman slot game. This game is only availabel for play at Golden Palace Casino. It is March Madness and basketball fever is at its highest pitch. Everyone is talking basketball and watching basketball. So why not play basketball slots and play with the legend, who has not one but two slot games dedicated to him. This player is none other than Dennis Rodman. Winner of five NBA championships between 1989 and 1998, Rodman has played for several of the best teams. In the later years of his professional career Rodman acquired a bad boy image and was nicknamed the Menace and the Worm. The first slot game is titled "Dennis Rodman" and was released by Playtech in July 2006. It is a 5 reel 20 payline slot with 37 winning combinations. The coin denomination range varies from $0.01 to $5.00. Players can wager up to 10 coins per payline. The symbols on the reels depict the eccentricities of Rodman's public life including Rodman in a bridal outfit, Rodman with face painted white and red hair and Rodman with rainbow dyed hair. There is a basketball signed by him and his painted sports car. The red hair symbol has the largest payout of 10,000 coins when 5 of those appear in an active payline. It is also the wild symbol. The painted car is the scatter symbol and leads to the scatter payouts. 3 or more scatter symbols activate the free spins bonus round in which the player gets 10 free spins. The basketball is the bonus symbol and 3 or more of these activate the bonus game on the second screen. Here the player is taken to a basketball court with a number of basket balls. The player picks the designated number of balls, which reveal the bonus credits. The screenshot as seen above is of the Vegas Technology version of the Dennis Rodman game and is called "The Worm's World". If can be played at "Golden Casino, Online Vegas Casino and Go Casino". The second slot game is titled "Dennis Rodman The Worm's World". Worm is the nickname given to Rodman. This slot game was developed by Vegas Technology and released in January 2008. It is a 5 reel 20 payline slot with 34 winning combinations. The coin denomination range varies from $0.01 to $10.00. Players can wager up to 10 coins per payline. Surprisingly the symbols on the reels are almost identical to those in the Playtech version. The wild symbol is Rodman in the wedding dress. It also multiplies payouts by 2 and 5 of the symbols in an active payline payout 10,000 coins. As in the Playtech slot, the scatter symbol is the car and the bonus symbol is the basket ball. 3 or more scatter symbols offer 15 free spins with tripled payouts. When the bonus symbols appear simultaneously on reels 2 and 4 the bonus game on the second screen is activated. In this game Rodman shoots baskets for the player. I checked out the Playtech Rodman game at one point a while back and I wasn't overly impressed... Come on really! Certainly there are other public figures that games can be based on that are of broader appeal. I think it was mainly because of Golden Palaces' relationship with him that Playtech even created this game to begin with.
