Microgaming offers two baccarat games. One goes by the name Baccarat and the other by the name Highly Limit Baccarat. Baccarat is played with only one deck, whereas High Limit Baccarat is played with eight decks. Therefore Baccarat offers slightly better returns for the Banker bet, which is the preferred bet. However High Limit Baccarat offers many more features and therefore a better playing experience. For new players High Limit Baccarat is recommended.

High Limit Baccarat allows players to watch deals without placing wagers. This enables players to understand the mechanism of the game before placing real money bets. It is suggested that new players utilize this facility in order to make themselves familiar with the dealing of the cards. The customization options can be accessed by clicking on the cogwheels icon at the bottom left of the screen. The most important options are the sound options. High Limit Baccarat offers four independent sound options. The game sounds replicate the dealing of the cards; background sounds provide background music; win sounds are played when the player wins the bet and advanced sounds are the announcements made by the dealer. It really does not matter whether the first three are enabled or disabled because they do not provide relevant inputs for the new player. However the advance sounds should be enabled. They announce the hand values and also when additional cards are to be dealt. This information is also available visually but for the new player the additional audio input will help.

High Limit Baccarat offers four game speed settings, which are Slow, Medium, Fast and Fastest. It is suggested that new players start with the Slow speed setting and increase the speed as they become more familiar with the game. Four options are provided in the General Settings section. It is important that two of these are enabled. One is the Flip Cards Automatically option. If this is not enabled then the bankers cards will be dealt face down and the player will have to click the Flip button in order to turn the cards over. The only relevance of disabling this option is in order to replicate land casino baccarat procedure. The other option is Show History Display. Enabling this option creates a window on the right side of the screen that records the banker’s wins and the player’s wins so that these can be tracked in the same manner as Red and Black numbers are tracked in roulette.

It is preferable for new players to play with the minimum wager of 1 credit throughout the session rather than keep on increasing or decreasing the wagered amounts. Another advantage of this procedure is that the game can be put on Auto Play so that the player can concentrate on understanding the outcomes and payouts. Two settings have to be done first. One is the number of deals, which the player can decide depending on his bankroll. The second setting is the time between deals and here it is recommended that new players do not play the game very fast. 0.80 seconds between deals is the default setting and that is recommended.
