The leading online gaming software provider, Cryptologic, has made it clear that it is embarking on a strategy of tying up with top international brands for its extremely popular branded online slots. The latest step in this direction was its agreement with Betfair, which was announced through a press release from Dublin. Earlier in the year Cryptologic had announced similar agreements with Gala Coral and The Gaming Network.
Betfair is one of the biggest online betting organizations. It was launched in 2000. Today it has a membership of more than 2 million customers, processes more than 6 million transactions a day and pays out more than 7 million Pounds Sterling a week. Betfair’s portfolio includes online casino games, exchange games and online poker. Betfair has twice been named the "Company of the Year" by the Confederation of British Industry and is the only betting company to have received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise twice. The agreement with Cryptologic will ensure that its members have access to the best of Cryptologic games for a number of years. The agreement provides for five games to be delivered by the second quarter of 2009 and at least five more games in the third and fourth quarters of 2009. This is not the first time that Betfair and Cryptologic are working together. In 2004 when Betfair launched its poker portal the software was provided by Cryptologic.
This deal with Betfair is a corollary of Cryptologic’s strategic partnership with Orbis Technology in December 2008. Orbis Technology powers Betfair through its Open Bet Fixed Odds Games (FOG) platform and offers about 75 games. The partnership with Orbis will allow Cryptologic to integrate its games on the FOG platform available to Betfair. The other Orbis customers in Cryptologic’s radar are Skybet, Paddy Power and Blue Square.
Justin Thouin, Cryptologic’s Vice President, said, "This deal strengthens Cryptologic’s leadership in slot games, and illustrates why we’re the partner of choice for so many of the world’s largest gaming operators." Albert Tapper of Betfair too expressed his satisfaction with the deal. He said, "Betfair is all about offering customers unprecedented choice, value and control, and Cryptologic’s market-leading slot games will add to that experience."
Cryptologic’s 280 online casino games include the extremely popular branded slots based on Marvel Comics super heroes and others. The popularity of these games can be judged from the fact that Cryptologic has won Gambling Online Magazine’s Top Casino Software award for the four consecutive years. This award is based on votes from players around the world.
