Craps is one of the more popular casino table games, but when you consider strategy there really isn't much to discuss. Like most games in a casino craps is dependent on random events. Sure you can try and guess by taking a chance that one or more of the bets are going to pay off, but there is no 100 percent win. In this article we are going to talk about some of the strategies that have been devised in the past to help you see why they don't work.

The first strategy is all in how you roll the dice. When the game first came into the casinos there were all sorts of things you could do, such as holding the dice with two hands, trying to switch the dice for loaded dice, and other things to help you cheat. Realizing this was possible, the casinos decided to make some strict rules in how you could hold the dice when you are the shooter. The first rule is that the dice must be in view at all times and that the shooter can only hold the dice in one hand. If a dice falls onto the ground for any reason the casino employees are the only ones who can return it, after it has been examined. In most cases they will call for new dice shortly after. The dice are always traded out after 8 hours.

Some schools of thought believe if you throw the dice in a certain way you can make the dice give you the roll you want. These individuals will spend a great deal of time standing at a craps table in their home and test out the throwing of the dice. As you can imagine that's not going to be very successful. It will not matter how you throw the dice because the die will roll in a random fashion from your hand; even if you hold them a certain way before the toss.

In Craps when you throw the dice you need to get both dice to hit the opposite wall for the roll to count. So, for example say you are practicing rolling the dice to get what you want, if you mess up trying to get what you want on the dice and don't hit that wall you will lose anyway. It is better to know the rules of the game and the different bets that you can place. The bets are the only way you can really win at the table. By choosing the correct bet you can win more often than you lose.

Other strategies are going to be as false as this. You may have heard of the Martingale Strategy, in which you are supposed to increase your bet when you lose and decrease when you win. There again you are spending more money than you will make. So just stick with the bets and know the probability of the dice combinations you could get. You will find this is a better strategy.
