Caribbean Stud Pays Out at Bodog CasinoBy: Joan Peppin, Thursday October 23rd 20080 Comments Email Print Usually it is the online slots games that hit the progressive jackpots. Hence when a player hits a progressive jackpot in one of the other games at any online casino it stands out. This is exactly what happened at Bodog Casino. Kelly J of California had placed the optional $1 bet on the jackpot while playing Caribbean stud poker. Most players place this wager despite the payouts not being commensurate with the odds because it gives them a chance to earn big money at a meager $1 investment. No one wants to kick himself for not wagering the jackpot side bet when he draws a flush. So Kelly was not really expecting to win when she paid her $1 before starting the hand. And to her surprise and joy she hit $141,000. Kelly said, The $1 side bet in Caribbean Stud Poker pays out a fixed or progressive amount depending on the hand drawn. The fixed payouts are for a flush at $75, a full house at $100 and four of a kind at $500. A straight flush yields 10% of the progressive jackpot amount and a royal flush yields the full progressive jackpot amount. It is not known whether Kelly got a straight flush or a royal flush. Bodog Casino has a habit of making big payouts in casino games other than online slots. In September Zachary S. also of California had hit a slightly bigger progressive jackpot than Kelly. The game was Let 'Em Ride and the amount was jackpot for $157,736. Let 'Em Ride has an identical progressive jackpot to Caribbean Stud Poker. The incidence of these wins must be good news for Bodog Casino, because it serves to divert attention from the litigation problems that the online casino is currently facing. 1st Technology LLC had filed a case against Bodog Casino for patents infringement in the District Court of Nevada and obtained a favorable ruling for a compensation of $50 million. Now Bodog Casino has lost its appeal in the Court of Appeals at the Federal Circuit in Washington as well. Earlier the U.S. Federal authorities had seized $24 million from bank accounts of Bodog Casino for alleged money laundering, a charge that Bodog has disputed.
