BMM Compliance and Gaming Testing ServicesBy: Adam Baker, Wednesday March 11th 20090 Comments Email Print BMM Compliance (BMM) was founded in Australia in 1981. Today it services 300 gaming jurisdictions from 8 offices around the world. BMM has also tied up with leading inspection organizations in countries like Spain and the Netherlands. It offers testing, assurance, certification, compliance management and advisory services to both land based and online gaming industries. The focus is more on land based gaming and this is where BMM differs from inspection organizations like Technical Services Testing and iTech Labs. The services offered by BMM fall into three groups, namely Testing and Assurance, Field Services and Technical Standards. Under Testing and Assurance BMM tests hardware and software for all gaming segments including wide area networks. The specific services provided include testing and recommendation of manufacturer’s gaming products for approval in regulated markets, testing and recommendation of gaming infrastructure and systems, audits and forensic technical investigations for regulators and operators and testing of central monitoring systems for regulators. The testing is carried out in strict accordance with relevant standards. Because the technology for gaming is changing very fast, BMM offers services to the various gaming stakeholders while they are designing new products or putting new systems in place. These services come under the purview of Field Services. Field Services include assistance in the areas of information technology security, forensics, system and machine audits, training and state of the art cyber-forensic procedures. The services offered by BMM in these areas are in conformation with the requirements of the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the United States Department of Justice. BMM has a high reputation in the gaming industry and has worked with the best of gaming stake holders. The gaming regulators that BMM works with include Alderney Gambling Control Commission, Great Britain Gaming Board and Malta Lotteries and Gaming Authority. The gaming manufacturers include Bally Technologies and International Game Technology. The gaming operators for whom BMM has carried out assignments include Caesars Entertainment, Harrah’s Entertainment and MGM Mirage. BMM is a member of several industry associations in Australia and over the world.
