Auto Bet Option in Cryptologic Casino Games

Traditionally the Auto Play feature in online casino games functions with identical bets for each spin or each hand. Recently the leading online gaming software provider Cryptologic introduced an Auto Bet feature that automatically allowed for variations in the amount wagered in some of its casino poker games. This has come as a big boon for players who would like to bet in set patterns or like to change the wagered amount depending on the outcome of the last hand. There is one drawback in this Auto Bet feature, which is that the players have to take the bet or fold decisions on their own.

The following descriptions are based on the Caribbean Stud Poker game offered at Cryptologic online casinos. The Auto Bet button is in the bottom tool bar. Moving the cursor over this button exposes the Options button. Players need to click on the Options button to configure the Auto Bet feature. The amount of the bet can be set through the Bet Type option. The drop down menu next to this option offers three choices, which are Fixed Bet, Pattern Bet and Conditional Bet. The Fixed Bet option allows players to wager with the same amount throughout. The only setting is therefore that of the wager amount. The wager amount can be varied from the minimum bet to the maximum bet in allowed increments.

The second option is the Pattern Bet. This option is meant for players who want to repeat the wagers in fixed cycles. The first decision is to choose the number of stops in the cycle. The number of stops can be increased by clicking on the '+' button and decreased by clicking on the '-' button. A separate cell for each stop will appear. The amount of the wager for each of the stops can be adjusted by manipulating the up and down arrows next to each cell. Suppose the player wants a cycle of $1, $2, $3 and $2 to repeat for the duration of the Auto Bets. He must first manipulate the '+' or '-' buttons to display four cells and then fill the cells from left to right with the values $1, $2, $3 and $2.

The Conditional Bet option is the most complicated. Here the next wager depends on whether the player has won or lost the last hand. The player first fills in the starting bet. He has the choice of increasing the wagered amount if he wins or of decreasing the wagered amount if he wins. Therefore he makes this selection next. Finally he fills in how much he wants to increase or decrease the wager by. An identical set of choices have to be made for the eventuality that he loses the last hand. There is one problem with this bet type. Supposing the player has set the bet to increase if he wins the last hand. The bet amount will keep increasing as long as the player keeps winning till the maximum table limit is reached. Thereafter it will remain at the maximum bet even if the player wins. Similarly the bet will keep decreasing on repeatedly getting the set outcome till the minimum table limit is reached.

In order that the wagered amounts do not reach undesirable high levels players can increase and decrease the wagered amounts by a percentage instead of a fixed amount. Here the player has to keep in mind that the increase or decrease is adjusted to the nearest possible chip count depending on the chip sizes available.

Hi Kevin... I think you're actually thinking about Playtech software as I really don't think that you can do this directly in the game in Cryptologic software. If you want to do this you have to open up the auto-play dialog box. It's not really that big of a deal but it does take one more step. With Playtech's casino software you can enter the detail for the number of spins you want to auto-play directly in the game without having to open the auto-play dialog box. I'm not sure if it's just in their new games that it's like this but I though it to be pretty convenient.

I like how you can enter in the mount directly within the game in terms of number of spins you want to spin using your keypad. Before you used to have to increment them one at a time which was really kind of a pain in the butt.

The features for the auto-play in Cryptologic online casino software has definitely matured from where it used to be... I'm far more impressed with the level of detail they've gone to in the latest implementation of their software then before.
