Reality is what we perceive around us through our senses. Virtual reality is when we perceive an unreal created environment through special equipment. Augmented reality combines the two. Technology provider Infinity Augmented Reality (IAR) explains that using specially equipped eyewear, virtual images, video and sound are superimposed for the user over what is actually seen and heard. This enhances the real-life experience with additional information that is pertinent, informative, practical, and/or entertaining. “With augmented reality, sensory inputs are no longer limited to what is within eyeshot or earshot, but may incorporate, in real-time, all that the network has to offer.”

IAR claims that it is possible to use augmented reality in the world of online gambling in a practical and commercially viable manner. The new augmented reality eyewear when combined with IAR technology will offer a never-before online gambling experience. One of the features in this system is 360 degree camera technology. Live dealer gambling will become more real. Players will feel that are in a real casino with the dealer and fellow players. “This new format for playing will take the stagnant style of online gaming, transforming it to dynamically experiencing the game.” Online gambling presents a major opportunity for the company according to a statement released by IAR.

One of the driving forces for IAR to move towards online gambling has been the legalization of the activity within the state by Delaware, New Jersey and Nevada. Many other states like California are actively pursuing legalization. IAR’s chief executive, Avrohom Oratz, pointed out that casinos like the Venetian, Bellagio and Wynn have spent billions of dollars building fascinating structures to entice gamblers to their destinations promising the ultimate gambling experiences. With the present technology online casinos cannot create anywhere close to that ambience, but with augmented reality they will be able to. Oratz added, “The economics of this industry have us very excited and we want to be a significant vendor to gamers and gaming companies.”

Companies like Google, Apple and Lumus are in the process of developing augmented reality glasses that will change the way users see and interact with the world. IAR is an expert in augmented reality applications. IAR can combine its applications with these glasses or through smart phones. As the wearer turns his head in various directions, he will see different people or objects through the eyewear as if in a real environment. The eyewear also incorporates speakers that add virtual sounds and microphones that capture user’s spoken commands. All these are put together in order to create the desired actions. Whereas strip clubs, casinos and cinemas are opposing these products, IAR is sure that they will bring about a next generation experience in online gambling.
