Pros: Deposits using it are instant, you get great rewards though Amex
Cons: Some online casinos don't offer Amex as a means of depositing so look out for it.
Dear visitors of CasinoAdvisor.com,
I'm here today to write you and let you know about the use of American Express credit cards at online casinos. As a player who resides in the US I myself have found that most of the alternative payment options out there are unreliable. If you take a look at what happened with NETeller for example and how they held back the funds of so many US citizens at one time you too might feel the same way I do towards these banking options that are not controlled by massive corporations such as Visa, Master Card and Amex. My personal preference of card usage is to use my American Express credit card for a number of reasons but primarily for convenience and rewards. First and foremost you need to find an online casino that accepts American Express credit cards as not all of them really do. I like playing at Go Casino and Aladdin's Gold online casino both of which readily accept credit card deposits using your Amex card. The big benefit to using Amex at online casinos are the following:
A) Provided that you have a Platinum or Centurion card you'll be able to deposit much bigger amounts into the casino (of course provided that you don't have stringent limits implemented by the casino you're playing at).
B) Amex offers the best rewards for money spent on an Amex card of all the other credit card providers out there. I personally take advantage of this not only though my online gambling spends at the online casinos that I play at but just in general in that I end up spending and gaining points that I'll then use for travel or other goodies that can be claimed from the American Express website.
If you're looking for casinos to play at online and you're from the United States my recommendation is to first try your American Express card to see if that works if not use one of your other credit cards as using an eWallet (alternative banking) method you may find an even bigger pain in the ass.
